UKCAE Council of Reference
Together is a leading national charity working for wellbeing: supporting people with mental health needs to get what they want from life and to feel happier.
Together achieves this by running a range of mental health services across the country, campaigning and doing research, and educating local communities about their mental health needs.
Together is supportive of the work that UKCAE is doing in the area of employment and disability in general. We particularly welcome the opportunity to be involved to support the work of UKCAE from the perspective of people with personal experience of mental health issues. People with this experience often wish to work and believe that their broader wellbeing benefits from doing so. Yet so often, their ambitions are compromised by difficulties in understanding their particular situation and a degree of fear about the challenges they may present in the workplace. I hope that as a member of the Council of Reference, I can ensure that the experience of people with mental health issues is reflected in the work of UKCAE. I am confident that this can benefit employers and their businesses as well as people facing mental health concerns in their personal lives.
Liz Felton, Chief Executive, Together.
