Membership

United Kingdom Council for Access and Equality (UKCAE) is a not-for-profit organisation funded through membership fees. It was set up from within the private sector to work on behalf of business.

UKCAE will consult its membership over the development of the Pathway, ensuring all sectors of the community are involved and represented.

UKCAE membership consists of:

  • Founder Members
  • General Members
  • Council of Reference Members

During the Interim period, each of the fifteen Founder Member organisations nominate an individual to sit on the Governing Body of UKCAE. After the Interim period the Governing Body will be elected through nomination. Founder Members will retain their title as long as they remain a member of UKCAE.

General Membership is open to anyone, whether corporate, individual, charity or not-for-profit.

The Council of Reference is chosen from within the General Membership and comprises a select number of individual members with a disability, or charities or not-for-profit organisations working on their behalf. The Council is the main advisory and consultative entity for the Governing Body.
